Westport School Board to meet April 10

WESTPORT — Westport Central School Board will hold its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10.

Agenda items include a budget discussion and policy review.

All board meetings are open to the public.

Adirondack Mountain Club program changed

PLATTSBURGH — The program for the April 11 meeting of the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club has been changed.

Scheduled now is Sharp Swan, who will present “Logging in the High Peaks: The Santa Clara Logging Company.”

A partner and consultant at Camp Pok-O-MacCready, he is an expert on the Adirondacks and Civil War battles.

The program is set for 7 p.m., followed by the meeting at 8 p.m., both on the second floor of the Old Clinton County Courthouse, intersection of Court and Margaret streets in Plattsburgh.

The public is welcome.

Two Saranac Central School Board seat up for vote

SARANAC — The Saranac Central School District will have two School Board seats up in the May 20 election.

The five-year terms begin on July 1 and are presently held by Robert Brooks and Michael Rascoe.

Petitions are available in the District Office and can be picked up there between 8 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, by going to wwww.saranac.org or by calling 565-5612 and requesting that a petition be mailed to you.

Petitions will be accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, April 21.

Deadline set for PCS District vote registration

PLATTSBURGH — Those who want to register to vote for the Plattsburgh City School District election can do so through the Clinton County Board of Elections.

The deadline for registration is no later than 5 p.m. May 6.

The register will be filed in the Office of the Clerk of the School District at 49 Broad St. and will be open for inspection to any qualified voter of the district from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays beginning on May 7 and at the polling places on the day of the vote, May 20.
