The regular meeting will reconvene at about 6:50 p.m. 

Agenda items include a budget discussion, contract awards and the adoption of the 2014-15 budget and school calendar.

Jay Planning Board meeting postponed

JAY — The Town of Jay Planning Board meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, April 7, has been postponed.

The Town Council will meet on Thursday, April 10, to appoint new members to the Planning Board to fill vacancies.

After that, the next Planning Board meeting will be scheduled.

Forum set on Common Core, data privacy

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Alliance for Public Education is holding a forum at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at SUNY Plattsburgh, Sibley Hall, Room 212, to discuss the recent events surrounding the refusal movement toward NYS Common Core exams, data privacy for students and loss of local power in education. 

“Many issues in public education are quite controversial at this moment, and parents and community members need to understand what is at stake,” a press release said. 

Questions will be welcomed by both the media and the community at the forum.

Transportation on Beekmantown School Board agenda

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Central School Board will meet at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, in the auditorium. 

Agenda items include presentations on employee recognition, the 2014-2015 school calendar and transportation study. 

School Board members will be available from 6 to 6:15 p.m. to meet and greet district residents.

ELCS sets budget forum for Tuesday

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School Board will hold a public budget forum at 6 p.m. Monday, April 7, in the conference room.
