ADK Coast Visitors Bureau members at Ottawa Travel Show

PLATTSBURGH — Representatives from the Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau are touting the region at the Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show this weekend.

This is the second year the Adirondack Coast will be represented at the show, held today and Sunday at the Ottawa Convention Center. About 20,000 people are expected to attend.

Representing the Visitors Bureau will be Director Kristy Kennedy and Lisa Dupee, sales coordinator for the Best Western Inn & Suites at Smithfield. They will provide information on attractions for travelers and tourists, such the Adirondack Coast Wine Trail, cycling, camping, fishing and the Battle of Plattsburgh Bicentennial Commemoration Weekend.

Kennedy said they are excited to be attending the Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show for the second year. 

“We have had tremendous success in the Montreal market, and focusing on Ottawa is the ideal next step for our marketing efforts,” she said in a press release. “We look forward to meeting the attendees and introducing them to the Adirondack Coast.”

Keeseville hydrant-flushing program ongoing

KEESEVILLE — The Village of Keeseville is flushing hydrants off and on through the end of April.

Residents may experience cloudy or discolored water during this time and are advised to run their water until it clears before using it.

Vermont National Guard steps up training flights

BURLINGTON — The Vermont National Guard has increased F-16 flight operations for today, as training is taking place. 

National Guard will also be training during hours of darkness Tuesday, April 8, through Friday, April 11, and also on Tuesday, April 15, through Thursday, April 17. 

 All aircraft are expected to land before 10 p.m.  

Saranac School Board expects to adopt budget

SARANAC — The Saranac Central School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, at the District Office in Dannemora.
