The committee is planning to hold two cleanup days in Westport. The first will be on April 25.

YOUTH BASEBALL: Westport’s Youth Commission is ready for baseball season. Last year, the commission had more than 160 children involved and anticipates another busy few months of baseball starting in May.

Westport Central School provides an after-school bus to Camp Dudley for baseball practice, which starts at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, May 1, for all age groups.

Dave Reynolds is coaching the kindergarten-through-second-grade team, with practices at Camp Dudley. The younger team doesn’t compete. The coach for third- and fourth-graders is Keith Lobdell, and this group will also practice at Camp Dudley. Ed Mason is coach for grades five and six, who will practice near the tennis courts at Camp Dudley. Updates on practice schedules are posted online at westportyouth.org.

NEXT MEETING: The Town Council meets next at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Town Hall.
