No trash pickup Monday by city

PLATTSBURGH — There will be no garbage collection by the City of Plattsburgh Public Works Department on Monday, due to Veterans Day.

Instead, Monday’s trash will be picked up on Tuesday.

For rest of the week, collection will take place as usual on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Peru Council sets special meeting to OK 2014 budget

PERU — The Peru Town Council will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, downstairs at the Peru Town Hall.

The council expects to approve the final 2014 budget and the water/sewer re-levy list to give to Clinton County.

The meeting is open to the public.

Willsboro Central School Board to meet Tuesday

WILLSBORO — The Willsboro Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the library.

Agenda items include business and finance and personnel.

The public is welcome.

Health-care plans on Plattsburgh City School Board agenda

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh City School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Duken School Building.

If an executive session is needed, it will take place at 6 p.m., with public session resuming at 7:30 p.m.

Agenda items include continued discussion on health insurance for union members, miscellaneous personnel matters and the boys and girls indoor track merger.

The meeting is open to the public.

Congressman to hold town hall meeting Tuesday

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Bill Owens will hold a telephone town hall from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, inviting contact from constituents across the more than 16,000 square miles of New York’s 21st Congressional District. 

He will give a quick update on the economy and his activities during the November district work period.

A random sample of district residents will receive an invitation by telephone to take part; anyone in the district can request to participate by:

▶ Emailing their name and complete phone number to ny21townhall@mail.house.gov.

▶ Calling the congressman’s Washington office at (202) 225-4611.

▶ Filling out the form at http://owens.house.gov/Contact/TeletownHall.htm.
