Malone man died of natural causes

MALONE — A Malone man who was found dead in the woods last week died of heart-related problem, according to Franklin County District Attorney Derek Champagne.

Christopher Moore, 45, “appears to have died from natural causes,” said the DA. “There was nothing suspicious.”

Moore had been dropped off in the woods off Pond Road (County Route 27) in the Town of Duane sometime Wednesday. When he didn’t return to his pre-scheduled pickup spot, family reported him missing.

State Police, as well as a State Police Canine Unit, volunteers from the Duane Fire Department, the State Department of Environmental Conservation and the U.S. Division of Homeland Security aviation team helped with the search.

Moore’s body was found about 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

Among his survivors are his wife, Melissa, and two children.
