Benefit for Rick Munson today in Morrisonville

MORRISONVILLE — A spaghetti dinner benefit for Richard “Rick” Munson will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at American Legion Post 1619, 219 Rand Hill Road, Morrisonville. 

The Chazy man is battling cancer for a second time, and the fundraiser will help him with the cost of treatment.

The event also features a DJ, silent and live auctions, raffles, the pink cancer-prevention fire truck, pony rides and more. Prizes include a variety of themed gift baskets, locally donated items and autographed sports memorabilia. Cost for the dinner is $10 for adults; $5 for children ages 5 through 12; and $1 for ages 4 and younger.

ELCS to hold special budget meeting

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014. 

A budget workshop, it will focus on budget forecast #2, the state budget as it affects ELCS budget development, use of fund balance and other budget-related discussion. The public is encouraged to attend.


Two NAC School Board seats up for vote in May

ELLENBURG — The Northern Adirondack Central School District has two School Board seats open for the 2014-15 school year.

The terms are for five years; the seats are currently held by Richard Harriman Sr. and Ronald Tomo.

Candidates who’d like to seek that position must be: a qualified voter of the district; a U.S. citizen; at least 18 years old; and a resident of the district for at least one year before the election. Also, board members may not reside with a family member who is presently on the School Board, and they can’t be an employee of the school.
