Peru Central Board to hold budget forum
PERU — The Peru Central School Board will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the community room adjacent to the main entrance of Peru Junior/Senior High School.
An executive session associated with particular personnel matters will take place immediately after the 5 p.m. start. A public community budget forum is slated for 6 p.m.
The board is expected to reconvene for regular monthly session business at about 7 p.m.
The agenda includes a budget development timetable, policy review and proposed annual meeting/vote propositions.
The meeting is open to the public.
Gap Elimination on school board agenda
CHATEAUGAY — The Chateaugay Central School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11.
The agenda includes the BOCES annual election, bus routes, budget development and a Gap Elimination Assessment resolution.
An executive session is anticipated to discuss personnel.
The public is welcome.
Rolling road block set for I-87 near Exit 42
CHAMPLAIN — Starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, the State Department of Transportation will be employing a rolling road block on Interstate 87 in support of utility line relocations that are part of a project to replace the bridge on Route 11 that crosses I-87 at Exit 42.
The rolling road block will be carried out by State Police and will begin about 1 mile from the work site.
Work should be completed by 2 p.m., a DOT press release said.
“Motorists should expect minor delays and plan accordingly.”
Cooperative Ext. offers Farm Safety Workshop
MALONE — Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) is offering a Farm Safety Workshop titled On the Farm Safety — A Family Affair on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the family farm of Steve and Marsha Gokey located at 3 Vincent Road, Malone (one mile past the Wilder Homestead).
Although targeting youth, this event is open to the public at no charge. Lunch is available to benefit the Franklin County 4-H Dairy Program.
