Carnival leaders undaunted by expected snow

1 p.m.: Gala Parade, Broadway and Main Street from Ampersand Avenue to Lapan Highway, followed by Parade Band Concert, Harrietstown Town Hall.

11 a.m.: Bionique Snowflake Volleyball Tournament, Saranac Lake Civic Center Rotary Field.

11 a.m.: Showshoe Softball, Elks Field, John Munn Road.

11 a.m.: Casey McHugh Pond Hockey Tournament, Bloomingdale Fields, call 637-4669.

Noon: Saranac Lake Teachers Association Kids X-C Ski Races, Dewey Mountain, call 891-2697.

12:30 to 3 p.m.: Snowy Owl Face Painting for children, Harrietstown Town Hall.

2 p.m.: Kiddie Parade sponsored by Lake Champlain Pools, Spas and Stoves, from the Saranac Lake Free Library to the Town Hall.

3 p.m.: 18th-annual Winter Carnival Baroque Concert, Methodist Church, sponsored by the Saranac Lake Young Arts Association.

7:30 p.m.: Cape Air/American Management Association Carnival Slide Show, Ice Palace.

8 p.m.: Guide Boat Realty Storming the Palace Fireworks Display, Ice Palace.

THURSDAY, FEB. 14

2 and 7:30 p.m.: Post-Carnival Cape Air Slide Show, Saranac Village at Will Rogers.
