Freezing rain causes accidents; I-87 closed in Beekmantown

PLATTSBURGH — Freezing rain coated Clinton County roads Sunday evening, causing numerous accidents in the Plattsburgh and Beekmantown areas.

Emergency workers closed the northbound lane of Interstate 87 in Beekmantown at about 7:20 p.m. because of accidents near the Stratton Hill Road overpass.

Although many of the accidents were reported as property-damage mishaps, the I-87 crash appeared to have resulted in injuries.

However, no details were available about any of these accidents.
