City councilors to hold meeting tonight

PLATTSBURGH — City of Plattsburgh councilors will take action on several items in their final meeting of the year tonight.

The meeting will begin with a public hearing at 5 p.m. regarding a proposal to change the city’s mooring law. Also on the agenda are items to amend the mayor’s proposed 2014 budget.

The regular meeting begins at 5:30 p.m., preceded by a work session.

Both meetings are open to the public.

Santa session set for special-needs kids

PLATTSBURGH — Champlain Centre mall will host Santa Cares on Sunday, Dec. 22, to allow children with special needs the chance to visit Santa in a quieter and calmer environment.

The photo sessions with Santa will take place during private mall hours from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Center Court, outside JCPenney. 

Each child will receive a special gift from Santa.

Large groups are encouraged to RSVP to the event by calling the mall office at 561-8660.

Altona Town Court canceled for holiday

ALTONA — Altona Town Court won’t be held on Tuesday, Dec. 24.

People who are scheduled to be in court that night are asked to instead appear on Jan. 7.
