---- — Boil-water ordered for Town of Jay users
JAY — A boil-water order is in effect for Town of Jay Water District customers west of the Ausable River.
A frozen main water line in the hamlet of Jay burst, Supervisor Randy Douglas said.
“The Jay Town (Department of Public Works) under Chris Garrow’s direction worked very diligently in very trying conditions to get this problem fixed as quickly as possible,” he said by email.
“We still will need to issue a boil-water order for drinking and culinary purposes.”
After two consecutive daily samples have shown no bacteriological contamination, the order will be lifted.
