David Mason of Keene is a retired partner of a strategic planning consulting firm. He conducted the Adirondack Futures workshops with Jim Herman for the Common Ground Alliance. They also led the Keene Broadband Project of the High Peaks Education Foundation. Mason is vice president of the Keene Community Trust.

Susan A. Waters of Saranac Lake and Westport is a director of the Adirondack Community Housing Trust. She was a Village of Saranac Lake trustee and served as president of Adirondack Habitat for Humanity as well as executive director for both Lake Placid Institute and Homeward Bound Adirondacks.

Tim Barnett of Westport and Saratoga Springs has joined ACT’s Advisory Board. He is the retired executive director of the Adirondack Chapter of The Nature Conservancy and Adirondack Land Trust and is a vice president of The Nature Conservancy. He is a board member of the Wild Center.

Business mixer

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Conference Center invites area business people to the Essex County Business Council Business After Hours mixer on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Business After Hours is open to members of the Essex County Business Council, North Country Chamber of Commerce and partner chambers. The council is a division of the chamber. Non members of the ECBC or any partners may call for a guest pass.

Anniversary noted

PLATTSBURGH — Hannaford Supermarkets will celebrate a quarter century of serving shoppers in New York when the grocery chain this week marks the 25th anniversary of the first Hannaford to open in the Empire State.
