North Country theater groups prepare spring shows

It’s that time of year again when the snow melts and flowers begin to bloom. Schools across the North Country rehearse week after week until curtain night. Here are a list of schools with upcoming performances.

Ausable

AuSable Valley Middle-High School will present the musical “Pippin” March 13 to 15 at 7:30 p.m., and at 2 p.m. on the 16. General admission is $10. For more information call 834-2800 ext. 7500.

Chateaugay

Chateaugay Central High School presents the musical “Annie” March 28 and 29 at 6 p.m., and at 2 p.m. March 30. The tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for students, $1 extra at the door. For more information call 497-6611.

Plattsburgh

Plattsburgh High School presents the musical “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” March 21 to 22 at 7 p.m., and 2 p.m. March 23. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. For more information call 561-7500.

Northern Adirondack

Northern Adirondack Central Junior-High School will present the musical “Curtains” March 8 to 9 at 7 p.m., and 2 p.m. March 10. The tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. For more information call 594-3962.

Peru

Peru Junior-High School presents the musical “Bye, Bye Birdie” March 6 to 7 at 7:30 p.m., and at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. March 8. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. For more information call 643-6400.

Lake Placid

Lake Placid High School will present the musical “Willy Wonka” March 13 to 15 at 7 p.m., and a children’s special at 11 a.m. March 16. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children and students. For more information call 523-2474.

Chazy

Chazy Central Rural School will host the Chazy Music Theatre to present the musical “Chicago.” Performance dates are March 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m., March 22 at 2 p.m., and 7:30 and at 2 p.m. March 23 in their auditorium. General

Schroon

Schroon Lake High School will present the musical “Peter Pan” — the Broadway version — 7 p.m. March 21 and 22. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. For more information call 480-1793.
