Storm brings numerous cancellations

PLATTSBURGH — Snow day!

Thanks to a snowstorm that left up to a foot of snow across the area, it's a day off for most area elementary and high schools and also, in a rare move, for SUNY Plattsburgh students.

The college's Feinberg Library is closed for the day because of the storm. In addition, there is no food service in Hawkins Patio or Samuel D's.

Further updates are available on the college's Facebook page: http://facdebook.com/sunyplattsburgh.

Here's a look at some other local cancellations:

• Plattsburgh High School Green Team students won't be meeting today with Congressman Bill Owens. They had planned to present him with a package of documentation about the consequences of fracking and the Keystone Pipeline.

• The "Heart for Nelson Mandela" concert, scheduled for 7 tonight at the Whallonsburg Grange has been canceled.

• Impeerium Peer Network at National Alliance on Mental Illness: Champlain Valley in Plattsburgh closed today.
