Two running for one seat on CCRS Board

2 vie for 1 Chazy School Board seat

CHAZY — Two candidates are running for one seat on the Chazy Rural Central School board.

Tim Howley was asked three questions by the Press-Republican. The other candidate, Melissa Dudyak, a teacher at Northeastern Clinton Central School, could not be reached by press time.

If elected to the school board, what would you most like to accomplish?

Howley: “I hope to be able to maintain the fiscal responsibility that the school is going to need to exist in this day and age. I believe in helping the community. I want to keep the school active.”

How would you go about accomplishing your goal?

Howley: “By learning how the system works. Helping the board and superintendent to make the right decisions.”

How would you balance the fiscal concerns of taxpayers with the educational needs of the students?

Howley: “By helping to make the tough management decisions that will have to be made when the time comes to make cuts. I want to make sure the programs are necessary and that we have what’s needed to maintain those programs while at the same time keeping the taxpayers in mind.”
