Altona man accused of sex abuse

ALTONA — An Altona man was jailed this week suspected of sexually abusing a teen for several years.

James M. Stacy, 44, was arrested Thursday on charges of first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree criminal sexual act and unlawful possession of marijuana.

State Police believe Stacy repeatedly violated the girl, beginning when she was 13, over several years.

He was arraigned before Altona Town Justice Eli Lambert and sent to Clinton County Jail without bail.

He will reappear in court later this month.

The investigation is continuing by Plattsburgh-based State Police and the Clinton County District Attorney's Office.
