PLATTSBURGH — City of Plattsburgh officials received several calls Monday regarding a yellowish tint in the water supply.
Environmental Services Manager Jonathan Ruff said that while the water may have a slight color, it is still drinkable and usable.
"There is no reason not to drink it," Ruff said.
Calls came in to the city during the day Monday, and workers from the Water Department were sent to investigate. Tests showed the water contained adequate chlorine residual, which provides disinfection.
Samples were also being analyzed for bacteria, and the results are due today.
Ruff said the color may be due to the time of year when temperatures change more and the heavy rain that visited the area on Sunday.
He visited several businesses Monday and found the water ran clear after running the tap for a few minutes.
