New traffic light in place in Plattsburgh
PLATTSBURGH — A new traffic light hangs over the intersection of Salmon River Road and Military Turnpike that will replace the flashing signal and stop signs that now control the intersection.
For now, the new light is set to flash mode with the stop signs still in place, according to the Clinton County Highway Department.
Tuesday, Nov. 20, the traffic light will be fully activated, with its red, yellow and green lights controlling traffic on all approaches to the intersection.
“Motorists accustomed to traveling through this intersection are urged to be alert to the new signalized intersection and be prepared to stop as necessary,” Highway Superintendent Al Rascoe said in a press release.
