Students: Sept. 2, 2008



Samantha Erin Monty of Plattsburgh, daughter of James and Colleen Monty, received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. While at Juniata, Monty was a member of the Juniata College Swim Team, Health Occupations Students of America and participated as a volunteer in the Special Olympics and Relay for Life events. Monty also held an internship at a dentist where she was able to shadow the dentist throughout his day, learn about sealants, root canals and other various procedures. Monty is a 2004 graduate of Plattsburgh Senior High School.

Meghan E. McIntosh was conferred an Associates of Arts degree from Bard College at Simon's Rock in Great Barrington, Mass., where she will be continuing her studies for her Bachelor of Arts degree as a theatre major. McIntosh is the granddaughter of Opal "Chris" McIntosh of Meadowbrook and the daughter of Richard and Lorraine McIntosh of Chazy Lake. While completing her requirements for her degree, McIntosh is the production master electrician for The Lebowitz Studio Theatre plus she was lighting designer at the Daniel Arts Theatre for this spring's Simon's Rock Festival of One Acts and "Hide and Seek," Richard Vardens thesis production and master electrician for the spring dance concert. McIntosh aspires to achieve to more experience and knowledge of technical theatre in the next two years at Simon's Rock.

Allison R. Morrow of Morrisonville studied in Ireland this summer, as a participant in St. Lawrence University's Summerterm courses there. Morrow is a member of the Class of 2010 at St. Lawrence, in Canton, and a graduate of Saranac Central School.

Participants took two courses, Nationalism, Peace and Conflict; and Literature, Popular Memory and Place. The courses included time spent in Dublin, Galway City, Connemara and the Aran Islands, as well as Belfast and Derry in Northern Ireland.

Morrow is a mathematics major at St. Lawrence, and a member of Kappa Delta Sigma sorority.

Aaron Dodds has graduated from Western New England College in Springfield, Mass., with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. The 2004 Seton Catholic graduate is the son of Michael and Cheryl Dodds of Cadyville. He was named to the dean's list at WNEC's School of Engineering and has accepted employment at Lockheed Martin in Liverpool.
