Meghan J. Miller of Plattsburgh made the Dean's List in the fall and spring semesters at Sage College of Albany. She is the daughter of Scott M. Miller and Beth E. Miller.
Aaron Dodds, son of Michael and Cheryl Dodds of Cadyville, has graduated from Western New England College in Springfield, Mass., with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. The 2004 graduate of Seton Catholic was also named to the WNEC spring 2008 Dean's List for the School of Engineering. Dodds has accepted employment with Lockheed Martin in Liverpool.
The third-annual Michael Dupree Memorial Lacross Scholarship was awarded to Alexandra Inslerman at the Saranac Lake High School graduation. While in high school, Inslerman played lacrosse, was in the chorus program and enjoyed various art courses. She was also involved in Habitat for Humanity, the Tri-Lakes Humane Society and took part in a fundraiser for rescue helicopter pilots. Inslerman has been accepted to Buffalo State University and plans to major in biomedical sciences.
The Northeastern Zone of the New York State Retired Teachers have announced the recipients of their scholarships, $500 for a student from each of the two local counties. For Essex County, the recipient is Lindsay Vanderwiele, daughter of Tim and Laurie Vanderwiele. She is a graduate of Schroon Lake High School and will attend Houghton College. For Clinton County, the recipient is April Yeaney, daughter of Vincent and Gretchen Yeaney. She is a graduate of AuSable Valley High School and will attend Wellsley College.
Rodney LaVarnway of Ballston Lake, formerly of Cadyville, received his Bachelor of Science degree in construction management engineering technology from Alfred State. In 2006 he received an associate degree in architectural engineering technology. He is a 2004 graduate of Saranac Central School and is the son of Rodney Sr. and Elizabeth of Cadyville.
Hartwick College senior Melissa La Reau of Peru, daughter of Shirley La Reau, is the recipient of Hartwick College Honors Program Recognition.
La Reau is majoring in economics and political science. At Hartwick she has participated in Student2Student Peer Mentoring Program, Honors Program. Ballroom Dance Club, Model United Nations, Resident Advisor Staff, Not So Sharp Acappella Ensemble, Pi Sigma Alpha, and Student
Senate. La Reau is a graduate of Peru Junior-Senior High School.
