NORTH BANGOR -- A local man is behind bars for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl.
Earlier this week, Malone-based State Police officials charged Abraham Sabin with a felony charge of first-degree sex abuse and a misdemeanor count of acting in a manner to injure a child.
Police believe the 28-year-old North Bangor man sexually abused a 7-year-old girl, but officials would not elaborate on the case Thursday.
Sabin was taken into custody Wednesday morning and was later sent to the Franklin County Jail on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond, which he had not posted as of midday Thursday.
Police are continuing to investigate the alleged abuse, and no additional information about Sabin's arrest was immediately available.
