Gigi Peckham, who is a registered nurse in the Stafford New Life Center at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, was named the Above & Beyond the Call of Duty recipient for July. The award is presented to AMC employees who provide exemplary services or care that is outside of their job requirements and reflects positively on them, their field of practice, community and AMC. In addition to a certificate of appreciation, Peckham was given a $50 gift certificate.
Margaret "Peggy" Perkins has been named web coordinator at Clinton Community College. Perkins is responsible for coordinating the college's Web presence for the campus community and the public. Her duties include ensuring Web site content and design aligns with present marketing goals and strategic initiatives, as well as providing technical guidance to faculty and staff. Perkins received her associate's degree in computer information systems from Dutchess Community College in 1999. Before coming to CCC, she was manager of information systems at WPTZ/WNNE TV in Plattsburgh.
Peter Grosskopf has been appointed to the position of director of workforce development, continuing education and community service at Clinton Community College. He is responsible for the development, evaluation and assessment of all department programs and includes staff supervision, budget oversight and as liaison to community organizations, business and industry.
Grosskopf began his career at CCC in 2001 as assistant in continuing education and internship program coordinator. He has also coordinated the Life Experience Credit and Individual Studies Degree Programs, served on numerous campus committees and has taught both credit and credit-free courses for the college. In 2006, Grosskopf received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
He is also the owner/president of Dijazzal Music Inc. and Bolton Acres RV Campground and Mobile Home Park, Keeseville.
Lisa J.C. Raino has been named as human resources/affirmative action officer at Clinton Community College. She comes to the college with more than eight years of experience in human-resource management, most recently as senior human-resources advisor for Bombardier Transportation in Plattsburgh.
Raino received a master's degree in 2007 and a bachelor's degree in 1985 from Plattsburgh State. She completed the Senior Professional Human Resources Certification in 2008 from Clinton Community College.
Raino's professional affiliations include membership in the Society for Human Resources Management and the Champlain Valley Human Resource Association.
Alison Haas, 1932 and 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympic Museum employee, received a scholarship to attend the New York Archive Conference at SUNY Potsdam.
Haas has a master's degree in design history and has been working with the museum for more than three years. She catalogues the museum's collections, provides research assistance, prepares exhibits and serves as a guide, among other duties.
