PLATTSBURGH -- Hollister clothing store is coming to Champlain Centre mall.

Champlain Centre Marketing Director Joan LaPier said renovations of the space across from Maurices and next to Journey's is under way to make way for the new store.

Hollister is expected to be open in time for the upcoming holiday season.

The store offers trendy, casual clothing in a California style for young adults, as well as accessories, fragrances and body-care products.

Up until now, the closest Hollister stores were located in Burlington and Albany.

Work continues on construction of a Target store, scheduled to open Oct. 12.

The Target team has set up an employment center near the mall Food Court and is accepting applications for the more than 150 jobs the store will create.

Another new store, Motherhood Maternity, is now open next to Old Navy. LaPier said in a news release that the new store offers maternity fashions at great prices.

In other mall news, Auntie Anne's, the Shoe Department, Deb Shop and Ritz Camera are all in new locations.

Deb has moved to a larger site next to New York and Company, while the Shoe Department has moved to a bigger space across from Borders.

Auntie Anne's is now next to Maurices and offers a new turkey and cheese pocket sandwich.

Ritz Camera has moved next door to FYE, near the Food Court.

The entrance near Best Buy is being rebuilt, and a new covered walkway entrance to the Food Court area is under construction.

Mall General Manager David Napolitan said the changes have energized shoppers and tenants.

"With all the construction activity, it's an exciting time for the mall," he said in a news release. "We have a great mix of tenants to offer our shoppers and expect our traffic to continue to grow. We anticipate a very busy Black Friday and a strong holiday season."
