Essex County Supervisors meeting changed
ELIZABETHTOWN -- The Essex County Board of Supervisors has moved all its committee meetings scheduled for next Wednesday to Monday.
The times of the meetings, which are open to the public, are Space Committee, 9 a.m.; Public Safety Committee, 9:30 a.m.; Human Services Committee, 10 a.m.; Department of Public Works Committee, 10:30 a.m.; Economic Development Committee, 11 a.m.; and Transportation Committee, 1 p.m.
Chateaugay interviewing for superintendents
CHATEAUGAY -- The Chateaugay Central School Board has scheduled a special meeting for 6 p.m. Monday.
The board will hold an executive session for superintendent interviews.
Healthy Neighborhoods to survey Altona
ALTONA -- The Healthy Neighborhoods Program of the Clinton County Health Department will be conducting health and safety surveys throughout the Town of Altona during July, August and September.
These brief in-home surveys are designed to identify health and safety concerns.
Home-safety products, such as fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, water bottles, flashlights, child-safety products, allergen-barrier mattress and pillow covers, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, may be provided to program-eligible families.
During the visit, education is provided regarding fire and burn safety, carbon-monoxide-poisoning prevention, lead-poisoning prevention, asthma, injury prevention and many other health and safety topics.
Information and referrals are also provided about community resources for which a family may be eligible. Participation in Healthy Neighborhoods is free for all Clinton County residents.

BOCES Board to meet in Saranac Lake
SARANAC LAKE -- The organizational meeting of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of Franklin, Essex and Hamilton counties is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Adirondack Educational Center, 711 Route 3, Saranac Lake.
The meeting is open to all.
Boat Parade winners announced
PLATTSBURGH -- The grand prize winner of the 2008 annual Rotary Boat Parade was Souvenir. The captain was Craig Meyerson. Category winners were: 31 foot plus -- Souvenir, Craig Meyerson, captain, first place; Pleasant Corners, Brad Rovers, captain, second. 24 to 30 foot -- Half Dozen II, John Boulé, captain, first; Aeolus, Brian White, captain, second. 18 to 23 foot -- Liddy Bit, Ken Anderson, captain, first; Who Won, Hugh Porter, captain, second. Paddle power -- Kayak Shack, Patty Husband, captain, first; Go Blue, Marty Sable, captain, second.
