ELCS holding voter registration today

ELIZABETHTOWN -- Only registered voters will be able to vote on the Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School 2008-09 budget and board election on May 20.

Voter registration will be held today in the main office of the school from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The requirements for voter eligibility are: a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age and a resident within the district for at least 30 days preceding the election.

Any district resident currently registered with the County Board of Elections is automatically eligible to vote in school elections.

Peru School Board meets tonight

PERU -- Peru Central School Board will meet at 6 tonight in the community room of the High School.

The meeting will start with an executive session, and the board will reconvene in public session about 7 p.m.

Agenda items will include a public hearing on the proposed budget; an interim report on school lunch prices for 2008-09 and the May 2008 K-12 student enrollment report.

Chateaugay to hold budget hearing

CHATEAUGAY -- The Chateaugay Central School Board will hold the annual budget public hearing at 7 tonight at the school.

The board will also hear about the senior class trip and a Town of Chateaugay transportation request.
