— Rep. John M. McHugh has announced the nomination of the following competitive appointments to U.S. service academies: Thomas Spangler, son of Laurence Spangler of Lindenhurst, Ill., and Lisa Spangler of Tupper Lake, to the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Maxx D. Hipko, son of Erik and Teri Hipko of Mooers Forks, and Tyler J. Richards, son of Bobby and Karen Richards of Rouses Point, at U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md.
The following students have been named to the Dean's List: John A. Dreimiller of Ticonderoga, at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy; Kenna Luguri of Plattsburgh, Roger Williams University, Bristol, R.I.; Katelyn Stevens of Saranac, daughter of Lianna and Rick Savage, at Daemen College, Amherst; Trever Lee King of Willsboro, at University of Northwestern Ohio, Lima, Ohio; Mallory Yando of Vermontville, Russell Sage College, Troy.
