Rep. John M. McHugh has announced the nomination of the following competitive appointments to U.S. service academies: Thomas Spangler, son of Laurence Spangler of Lindenhurst, Ill., and Lisa Spangler of Tupper Lake, to the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Maxx D. Hipko, son of Erik and Teri Hipko of Mooers Forks, and Tyler J. Richards, son of Bobby and Karen Richards of Rouses Point, at U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md.
